Week 6 - Midterm Milestone

The one thing that resonated with me in that list was the fact that dev-logs make the game still exciting to me. Often times, I realize I run into game-fatigue when I keep working on a project for a long-period of time. By writing weekly updates, I keep the dream going, reminding me of the progress I have done so far, while reaffirming the goal I had since the start of the project.

This week, I fixed some materials and shaders, trying  to focus on the game's overall artistic theme. I also changed the Post-Processing Script heavily to switch between multiple modes. This was to create the Tiltshift effect that Professor King talked to me about from last Thursday. Additionally, some movement bugs were fixed, and I added an island creation manager, that randomly assigns a set-piece island to the world. Additionally, you gain cinematic pans when nearing islands, resulting in beacons going off. Now for the game aspects, I made it so that you require all beacons in the game to be lit to end the experience. Each aspect will also have some text and matching models that refer to big moments in my life.

I am content with my progress this week, and the systems I made are pretty flexible.  Coding wise, I believe I am done. Only thing I might add is a fade in UI for a quick how to play tutorial, but thats it. I am mainly going to focus on art on this last week, creating more 3D models, and experimenting with Shaders.
