Week 12 - Project 5 Milestone

This week was a rough week, but I can whole-heartedly say, that as a group, we got a lot done. With thanksgiving break giving me some breathing space, I managed to...

1. Create a new characterMovement script that utilized features from the previous 5 scripts, while also incorporating them in the Unity CharacterController class.

2. Create a variety of new models, such a the volcano, bridges, islands, landscapes, etc.

3. Collaborate with Stephanie to rework our map to make it clearer, while adding more meaningful choices to make when choosing your direction.

4. Collaborate with Hank to code in the Ring power-ups, which now affect your max speed, and the WaterWalking power-up.

5. Create a scrolling liquid shader, and a pulsing liquid shader, which numerous materials are using as their base (eg. lava, water, grass, sand)

6. Troubleshoot recurring Git Problems.

7. Animate Character Models.

8. Add Hitboxes to models.

9. Make the game local-multiplayer with controllers, and up to 4 players.

Then, as a group, we met on Tuesday and planned out what we need to doing before our final Thursday. By then, we wish to have our menu and character selection screens up, as well as the remaining character models and animations done. Finally, we want to add in SFX and make music (preferably our own), and particles for foam, smoke, and grass. I think that is easily doable, and we also hope to get good feedback today in class so we can tweak our project in accordance to today's feedback.

Overall, I think this week our progress really kicked up. At least for me, the thing holding me back was the previous character controller, but now that it is finished, I've been enjoying branching out into art, materials, animations, etc.
